Isis Class (Years 3 and 4) have a night away at Hill End Residential Outdoor Education Centre, in Farmoor, Oxford every other year.
Hill End is a 65 acre site on the edge of Wytham Woods in Oxfordshire. The accommodation consists of dormitories, kitchen/domestic unit, heated shower block, tennis courts, and large games field. Hill End offers a range of outdoor activities for example:- • Orienteering • Team work and problem solving activities • Environmental awareness • Personal and social development – living and working together
Thames Class (Years 5 and 6) spend 5 days on a residential trip on alternate years. In September 2019 they went to Kilvrough in Wales, run by Oxfordshire County Council. Kilvrough concentrates on the personal and social development of every individual by providing high quality residential outdoor courses that are challenging, educational and emphasise the values of living and working together. It is run by fully qualified instructors in a small, safe and friendly atmosphere which is well suited to younger visitors. Kilvrough offers a wide range of challenging outdoor activities for example:- • Abseiling • Caving • Rock Climbing • Canoeing • Orienteering
